The problem, and the fix

Drinking water still runs on phone calls and paper.

Bottled water is the main source of drinking water for 15% of urban Indian households2 — much of it 20 L jars from a local supplier. It works, until it doesn’t. Here is what changes with Water2door.

  1. Today

Ordering means a phone call or a WhatsApp message

And waiting for a reply. Orders get missed when nobody picks up.

    With Water2door

Order in a few taps, any time

Quick Order picks the best nearby supplier, or reorder in one tap. Deliver now or in a slot.

  2. Today

No idea when the jar will arrive

You wait at home, or the jar waits at the gate.

    With Water2door

    Live tracking to your door

The vehicle on the road route with an ETA that updates, and a push when it is about 500 m away.

  3. Today

Cash, and never the right change

Nothing is recorded, and refunds are awkward.

    With Water2door

    Pay the way you like

UPI, cards, net banking, the wallet or cash. Drivers can show a UPI QR, and every rupee is recorded.

  4. Today

Jar deposits nobody keeps track of

Deposits are paid and jars change hands, with no accurate count.

    With Water2door

    Every jar on a ledger

See the jars you hold and your refundable deposit. Drivers count empties at the door; book a pickup any time.

  5. Today

    No bill, no GST invoice

Offices and shops need tax invoices; small suppliers rarely issue them.

    With Water2door

A GST invoice for every order

Tax invoices and credit notes are generated automatically. Business accounts get one monthly statement.

  6. Today

Suppliers juggle diaries, calls and drivers

Orders on paper, drivers on the phone, cash in a drawer.

    With Water2door

One app runs the whole shop

An order alert with a countdown, auto-dispatch to the right driver, stock, jars and cash — on one phone.

  7. Today

No proof the water is safe

Licences and lab reports exist, but customers never see them.

    With Water2door

    Verified and lab tested

GSTIN, PAN, FSSAI and BIS are checked before a shop goes live; verified lab reports earn a “Lab tested” badge.

  8. Today

Running out at the worst moment

Remembering to reorder is one more thing to do.

    With Water2door

    Subscriptions that just arrive

Daily, alternate days or chosen weekdays. Skip a day or pause for a holiday in a tap.

An order, start to finish

From “I need water” to a jar at the door.

One order in the customer app, played back from the demo environment: a 20 L jar from a verified supplier, paid by UPI, tracked live and delivered with a code.

Ordering demo, step 1: Open the app

Customer app, tracking near screen: A live ETA chip that counts down as the driver gets closer

Live tracking

Know exactly when your water arrives.

Customers see the driver’s vehicle on the road route to their door, the distance left and an ETA that updates as it moves.

  • Private by design

The driver’s position is shared only while your order is out for delivery, and the route is drawn to your address only — never to other customers’ stops.

  • Arriving soon

A push when the driver is about 500 m away; marked arrived within 100 m.

  • A code at the door

A 4-digit delivery code confirms the handover. Calls and chat stay masked.

Every vehicle a supplier runs, drawn top-down and turning the way it drives:

  • Bicycle
  • Cycle rickshaw
  • E-rickshaw
  • Bike
  • Auto rickshaw
  • Mini truck
  • Truck

How it works

From tap, to door, to settled.

Six steps, one platform: the customer, the supplier and the driver each see their part, live.

  1. Order

The customer picks a nearby supplier or taps Quick Order, then pays online, from the wallet, on account or in cash.

  2. Accept

The supplier gets a full-screen alert and accepts all of it, part of it (with the customer’s consent) or rejects it.

  3. Dispatch

The order goes to the best driver on shift — by travel time and vehicle capacity — or is assigned by hand.

  4. Track

The customer follows the vehicle on the road route with a live ETA, and gets a push when it is close.

  5. Deliver

The driver enters the customer’s delivery code, counts the empty jars and collects cash or shows a UPI QR.

  6. Settle

Every rupee is posted to a double-entry ledger; the supplier is paid on a weekly statement.

Why Water2door

Built for jars and local suppliers — not dark stores.

How drinking water is bought today — a call or a WhatsApp message to a local supplier, quick-commerce apps that sell bottled water, or billing software a supplier runs alone — and what changes with Water2door.

  • Built for 20 L returnable jars

Deposits, jars held and empties returned are part of every order — not an afterthought.

  • Made for recurring deliveries

Subscriptions generate orders every night, so water arrives without anyone remembering to ask.

  • Local suppliers, not dark stores

The shops that already deliver in your area, verified and brought online — they keep their customers.

  • Live tracking, for small fleets too

From a bicycle to a truck, every delivery is tracked on the road route with an ETA.

  • GST and settlements handled

Invoices, TCS and TDS, a ledger for every rupee and a weekly payout — done for the supplier.

  • Works for a one-phone shop

An owner who also drives runs the whole business from one phone, in English or हिन्दी.

Business model

We earn on every order — not on the water.

Suppliers sell at their own prices. Water2door earns a commission and platform fees on each order. Every rate is dated configuration that changes only with a second person’s approval; launch rates are not published yet.

  • Commission on each order

A percentage of the goods’ value, set per supplier and invoiced to the supplier with GST. It is deducted on the weekly settlement.

  • Platform fees

A platform fee and a small-order fee to customers, on Water2door’s own GST invoice; surge fees in busy zones.

  • Subscriptions

Recurring deliveries — daily, alternate days or chosen weekdays — generated every night. Predictable volume for every supplier.

  • Business accounts

Offices, housing societies, shops and institutions order on credit and pay one monthly GST statement.

Trust & safety

Built to be trusted with water — and money.

  • Verified suppliers

GSTIN, PAN, FSSAI and BIS details are checked, the bank account is validated and every document is reviewed by a person before a shop goes live.

  • Lab-tested badge

Suppliers upload water-quality lab reports. Once verified, customers see a “Lab tested” badge on the shop.

  • Delivery code

A 4-digit code, shown only to the customer, confirms each handover at the door.

  • Privacy by design

Built for the DPDP Act 2023: consent records, data export and deletion, a retention schedule, and driver location only during a shift.

  • GST-compliant documents

Tax invoices, commission invoices and credit notes; TCS (GST) and TDS (s.194-O) computed per order from dated tax settings.

  • Reconciled money

A double-entry ledger for every rupee, and a reconciliation job that checks payments against the gateway’s reports.

  • Audit trail

Every action the Water2door team takes is recorded, and the log is designed to be archived daily to write-once storage.

  • Two-person approval

Settlements, large refunds and finance settings need a second person on the Water2door team to approve them.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Where is Water2door available?

Water2door is built for India. The product is production-ready; the first cities and neighbourhoods will be announced as the first verified suppliers go live.

What can I order?

20 L jars (returnable and sealed), cans, bottles, dispensers and accessories — from verified suppliers whose delivery area covers your address.

How do jar deposits work?

Your first returnable jar order includes a refundable deposit. The app shows the jars you hold with each supplier, and you can book a pickup to return empties.

How do I pay?

UPI, cards, net banking, the in-app wallet, or cash on delivery where the supplier offers it. Business accounts can pay a monthly statement.

Is my location shared?

Your address is shared with the supplier for your order. A driver’s location is shared only during their shift — and you see it only while your own order is out for delivery.

Which languages do the apps support?

English and हिन्दी (Hindi). More languages can be added city by city.

I run a water business. How do I join?

Sign up in the partner app with your mobile number and follow the guided steps. Our team reviews every shop before it goes live.
